Brenda Johnstone - Publisher

Brenda Johnstone made a name for herself in the convenience channel when she spearheaded the successful launch of a national English and French c-store publication several years ago. Since then, Brenda has decided to break out on her own and take convenience, carwash and petroleum geared publishing to the next level with Convenience & Carwash Canada.

Along with her 25 years in the publishing industry, Brenda brings an in depth knowledge of sales and marketing to this new and informative publication.

Starting as an administrative assistant with the Kitchener/Waterloo Record, she worked her way to the Toronto Sun Newspaper’s sales department. She truly began to hone her sales skills at a Toronto trade magazine company, where she launched two successful publications, along with their respective trade shows, both of which are still running today.

Her move into the convenience channel came with a move to Winnipeg to launch her third trade magazine. While there she worked with many convenience, carwash and petroleum associations, and kept both her client’s expectations and publication’s sales high.

One area Brenda likes to keep the numbers low is during her golf game. When she’s not at work, she can usually be found on the links with one of her two ladies golf leagues. She also loves being at her cottage and every outdoor activity, including hiking in the bush, kayaking, fishing, skiing, swimming and reading books on her dock.
