During this presentation, we will look at the struggle we often experience between meeting our substantive negotiating needs while maintaining or improving the working relationship: We don’t have to sacrifice the relationship and play hardball to meet our objectives. We will look at the differences between traditional positional bargaining and the more effective negotiation strategy called interest-based negotiation. Also, we will explore ways of creating value for both sides. Some negotiators believe we must win and the other side must lose. This portion of the workshop dispels that myth and finds ways to create win-win outcomes
