Ron Conlin

Ron Conlin realized a need for better research choices in the Retail fuel and Cstore industry. After finishing his studies in finance, he began applying his skills as the retail development manager for a southern Alberta grocery wholesaler. His portfolio included all facets of retail development including site selection evaluations.

In the pioneer years Ron worked with lotus 123, paper maps and raw postal data to perform his site evaluations. In 1993 Ron launched Site-Check Research Group offering research services to various oil and grocery companies throughout Canada and the U.S.A. During this time the proprietrary SAM and Heat Map models were developed for Site-Check in house use and end user licensing.

The Site-Check presentation will feature their latest “Heat Map” software. Using proprietary distance decay methodology, the “Heat Map” software is designed to highlight any areas with-in selected trade areas in Canada with an easy to read color coded fuel sales volumes maps. This demonstration will highlight many of the rich features such as: the non-read volume estimator, grade volumes,historical volumes, demographic profiles, the one touch volume updater and finally the seamless word processing feature.
