Convenience & Beer!

Convenience & Beer!

Earlier this week, the Convenience Industry Council of Canada, together with the Ontario Convenience Stores Association, the Ontario Korean Businessmen’s Association, and Free My Booze, launched Convenience and Choice, an initiative calling on the Ontario Government to fulfill an election promise to modernize beverage alcohol sales and expand to convenience stores.

Our initiative includes a campaign micro-targeting Queen’s Park. We emphasize that the expansion of beverage alcohol sales into our stores will help our responsible small business retailers recover from losses as a result of the pandemic while fulfilling Ontarians want for more choice, and the Government’s pledge. We are pushing to get this file firmly in the Spring Budget, scheduled to be tabled on March 24.

We’re calling on all CICC members to take action and support the campaign by sending Premier Ford and the Ontario Minister of Finance an e-letter of support.

It’s easy and quick:

  1. Click HERE to go to our Take Action page.
  2. Fill in your name, email, and postal code at the bottom.
  3. Press ‘Send Message’.

We need your help! We need to show that this is an important issue. If the government only receives a small number of emails, it will send the impression that this isn’t a priority for our industry.

Even if you don’t own or operate a store, please participate. Your signature and the success of this campaign strengthens our position in advocating on future issues affecting our channel.

Thank you for supporting the Convenience and Choice campaign. Initiative supported by:
